The main responsibilities are to control, oversee and develop all business operations, people, technologies and efficiencies in the company’s manufacturing facilities at Barcelona and Madrid with around 150 employees.
In the short-term, success will be defined by a speedy establishment of gravitas and leadership credentials in the business. Your goal will be to ensure that the company fulfils and exceeds the targets agreed with the overseas directors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational management coupled with a proven commercial and sales track record. This is a fantastic opportunity for a career driven individual.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute agreed strategic plans
2. Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
3. Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are always followed
4. Driving further cultural change in Health and Safety and employee wellbeing
5. Maintaining relationships with all the key customers and the major suppliers and other stakeholders
6. Budget setting & overseeing the company’s financial performance, investments, and other business ventures
7. Attracting and retaining a strong, well-motivated and skilled workforce
8. Maintaining a dialogue between the business and the Directors
9. Building, maintaining, and motivating an effective management team
10. Delivering the latent operational savings from the recent site consolidation
11. Driving labour efficiencies with the implementation of first-class practise
12. Assuming full accountability to the board for all company operations
Requirements
13. Proven experience as Managing Director or General Manager within a leading manufacturing operation.
14. Preferred experience in the printing/packaging industries.
15. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing strategic and business plans
16. Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
17. Solid Health & Safety experience, with credentials
18. Excellent organizational and leadership skills
19. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
20. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
21. Fluent in English and Spanish native
22. Educated to degree level
