Could you be the full-time R&D Engineer (Embedded SW Engineer) in Barcelona we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your ability with customer relationship to another level. You’ll work alongside young and proactive teammates.
You will be responsible for working on new products based on cameras and lasers that will allow us to optimize the train’s maintenance.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Industrial Team, Production), ensure that industrial processes are adequate and necessary in time, form and quality to achieve the objectives of the working group, and ensure the reliability and availability of the equipment, among other responsibilities.
Specifically, you’ll take care of proposing, developing, and executing projects of applied research and technological development within business services, aimed at validation in the field of various developments, as well as designing and industrializing products for data acquisition in railway environments.
We’ll look to you for:
* Development of data acquisition systems based on embedded software.
* Design, develop, and maintain software for embedded systems.
* Manage suppliers that manufacture hardware and/or develop software.
* Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate solutions.
* Perform software testing and debugging to ensure functionality and performance.
* Document software design, development, and testing processes.
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
* Read and understand electrical schematics and component datasheets.
* Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in embedded systems.
* Participate in design reviews.
* Propose new R&D initiatives, gathering ideas from inside and outside the company.
* Maintain technological vision and knowledge of competitors.
* Design for quality milestones and monitor progress (manufacturing, testing, commissioning, warranty).
* Propose and drive improvement action plans.
* Ensure the return of experience from deployments to new projects and tenders.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. We don’t expect you to have every skill listed, but the following will help you succeed and grow in this role:
* Degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven experience in embedded software development.
* Deep knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++.
* Experience with real-time operating systems.
* Microcontrollers/microprocessors based on ARM architecture.
* Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
* Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
* English proficiency at C1 level.
* Willingness to travel 10-20% for validations and training, including international travel.
