Role Summary
The
Director of Business Development (EMEA)
serves as the senior regional leader responsible for defining and executing Wi‐Fi Alliance's business development strategy across EMEA. This role owns regional ecosystem engagement, strategic partnerships, and growth initiatives that directly support membership expansion, certification adoption, and long‐term financial objectives.
The Director operates as a visible external leader for Wi‐Fi Alliance in EMEA, engaging senior executives, shaping industry relationships, and aligning regional priorities with global strategy. This role contributes directly to multi‐year planning and is accountable for delivering measurable impact across membership, certification growth, and strategic alliances.
The Director reports to the
Vice President of Marketing
and partners closely with global leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the EMEA business development strategy aligned with Wi‐Fi Alliance's global priorities and five‐year financial plan
Define regional goals for membership growth, certification adoption, ecosystem partnerships, and strategic initiatives
Serve as a senior voice into global strategy development, representing EMEA market dynamics and opportunities
Executive‐Level Member & Ecosystem Engagement
Build and sustain executive‐level relationships with key member companies, prospective members, and strategic partners across EMEA
Position Wi‐Fi Alliance as a trusted, value‐driving industry leader and convening body
Lead strategic partnerships that increase the relevance, reach, and "stickiness" of Wi‐Fi CERTIFIED programs
Revenue Growth & Enablement
Partner with the Vice President of Marketing to shape go‐to‐market approaches that align with how members buy and engage in EMEA
Actively support pipeline development and initiatives that directly contribute to membership and certification revenue growth
Oversee regional contributions to new offerings, programs, and strategic growth initiatives
Organizational & Program Leadership
Ensure effective management of liaison relationships to maximize strategic value
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure offerings meet evolving market needs
Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of senior experience in international business development, partnerships, or sales within the technology industry
Demonstrated success leading regional or global growth initiatives with measurable impact
Experience engaging C‐level and senior executive stakeholders
Strong background in Wi‐Fi, connectivity, networking, or adjacent technology ecosystems
Prior experience working with industry associations or standards organizations preferred
Skills & Attributes
Strategic, confident leader with strong executive presence
Highly persuasive communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Strong negotiator and relationship builder across cultures and geographies
Analytical and insight‐driven, with the ability to connect market trends to business strategy
Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability
Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25‐40%)
Education
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
