Job Description: Assistant Line Manager
To assist a Line Manager (LM) or Trade Head in the day-to-day operations of the service. Employment Type: Permanent
Reports to: Hub Director / Deputy General Manager / Trade Head
You will assist a Line Manager with the following responsibilities:
1. Overseeing daily operational aspects, including monitoring vessel movements at sea and vessel activities when in port, and maintaining close liaison with overseas agents.
2. Managing space control, including executing over-booking, cargo selection, addressing fixed slot customer excess requests, and liaising with overseas agents on booking forecasts.
3. Updating vessel positions for both our own operated ships and partner vessels, and disseminating revised schedules to internal offices, agencies, and key clients.
4. Monitoring daily vessel speed and bunker consumption using the system to ensure alignment with the Time Charter Description (TCD), and cross-checking against other sister ships previously operated in the trade or region.
5. Reviewing bunker survey reports to verify reported quantities against the master's reported Remaining On Board (ROB), and addressing any discrepancies immediately.
6. If assigned, managing a third-party independent service related to vessel schedules, space management, and pricing, involving daily correspondence with internal and external parties.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in maritime business or business management.
* Ability to focus on tasks, analyze situations, systems, and problems.
* Ability to make quick decisions supported by data and information.
* Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
