For more information about Hope for Haiti, please visit The Nurse (Nutrition) is a NATIONAL position. This position is located in Les Cayes. Please review the contract dates before applying.ROLE PURPOSE:Under the supervision of the Nutrition Coordinator (NC), the Nurse will work closely with the Pediatricians, Auxiliary Nurse, and Community Health Workers (CHWs). The Nurse is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the planning and implementation of the Nutrition Program. They will participate in a community-based nutrition program, conducting field activities five days per week. The role includes assessing, screening, treating, and monitoring children and caregivers, delivering nutrition education and awareness sessions, and supporting preventive interventions. He/She will work closely with the Hope for Haiti team, medical partners, beneficiary schools, community health workers and community leadership to ensure Hope for Haiti's Nutrition Program is functioning efficiently and effectively and to promote healthy practices within the target population.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKSAssist the NC with planning, budgeting and implementing public health activities, primarily related to the Nutrition ProgramAssess and manage malnutrition cases (screening, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up)Oversee auxiliary nurses and CHWs works, and educate caregivers/families on nutrition and related health issuesThis position is field-based, requiring daily travel to program sites, including schools, clinics, and community households, to implement and monitor nutrition activities.Work diligently with the beneficiaries of the nutrition and public health programs to make sure the activities can take placeWork with the NC to determine the supplies and materials needed for the Nutrition ProgramWork with Operations and Public Health teams to procure the supplies/materials in a timely mannerInvolve the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) by informing them of public health activities and dataEvaluate nutrition and public health programs through Monitoring and Evaluation and reporting KPIsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Nursing and Nursing License requiredAdvanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Tools and InternetExperience in nutrition, community health, and public healthAbility to conduct field assessments, monitor growth, and provide basic treatment for malnutritionKnowledge in project Monitoring and EvaluationGood written and reporting skillsAbility to write and speak in French and Haitian Creole, English preferredPassion and enthusiasm for non-profit workAbility to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and joyful demeanorAbility to work and establish good relationships with co-workers, partners, and non-partnersAbility to walk distances of over 10 kilometers at varying elevations and to lift 30 pounds over shoulders.PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT ALIGN WITH CORE VALUESResiliencyAbility to respond appropriately and sensitively to cultural differences as they arise among the organization's service populationAbility to learn quickly, take the initiative, and report on resultsFlexible, adaptable, patient, and accepting of the fact that Hope for Haiti and its activities are constantly evolving in line with its resources and goalsAbility to adapt to and make level-headed decisions in stressful situationsHigh energy and strong physical condition, including but not limited to the ability to hike distances over 5 kilometers and lift at least 30 lbs. over the shouldersEmpowermentAbility to conduct and participate in staff meetings and strategic planning professionals and to represent Hope for Haiti's mission to team members and colleaguesHave a sense of initiative, responsibility, and creativityStrong proficiency in problem-solvingAccountabilityAttention to detail and punctuality in executing the responsibilities assigned to youExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assigned tasks.Personal commitment to the mission and vision of Hope for Haiti and a desire to help the most vulnerable populationMaintains the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive informationCollaborationAbility to effectively work and communicate with a teamAbility to resolve interpersonal conflict while preserving a team-oriented outlookAbility to communicate easily with team membersCommitment to Hope for Haiti's Organizational NormsHopeA shared belief that there is always a pathway to improvement despite the challenges that lie ahead.Positive outlook and ability to work through difficult situations knowing that it's possible to achieve desired outcomes.Commitment to Hope for Haiti's Code of Conduct and Safeguarding PoliciesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSNational candidates only.
