The Data Science Pillar in DA&AI is where Data Scientists and ML Engineers report within the broader D+A Organization. They lead, facilitate, and collaborate within the DS community at PepsiCo, supporting the development and lifecycle management of DS components within DA&AI products and engaging in pre-engagement activities based on prioritization frameworks.
Role Summary
The Data Governance & Stewardship Senior Manager will work across PepsiCo sectors and functions to define and implement enterprise data governance policies, rules, and standards to mitigate risks related to data collection, storage, and usage. This role requires experience with data governance tools such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc., and a deep understanding of governance policies, master data requirements, and data usage across various programs. The manager will ensure adherence to the global data governance framework, support platform rollouts, and collaborate with data stewards and governance teams to uphold standards and address new data requirements.
Responsibilities
* Create governance policies, procedures, and rules to mitigate data-related risks.
* Research legal and policy compliance issues, providing technical and strategic support to senior management.
* Ensure stakeholder standards are applied and conflicts resolved through cross-unit discussions.
* Identify risks related to enterprise data security and implement controls.
* Collaborate with Data Ecosystem teams to develop policies for external data storage and usage, ensuring compliance.
* Develop documentation and recommendations for new data standards, rules, and policies.
* Gather and relay data governance requirements from local and global programs.
* Coordinate with enterprise data stewards and governance leaders to maintain data standards and consistency.
* Align data activities with governance programs and best practices.
Qualifications
* 8+ years in Data Governance or Data Security and Compliance within a global organization, preferably CPG or financial sector.
* Strong background in data management, policies, and technology for compliance automation.
* Experience with data governance tools like Informatica, Collibra, Erwin, IBM IGC.
* Ability to collaborate with legal, business, and technical teams to standardize data governance practices.
* Knowledge of legal regulations concerning data.
* Excellent communication and influence skills across organizational levels.
* Ability to translate business needs into data requirements and work towards optimized data governance solutions.
