Egis’ Architecture Line brings together a collective of leading global architecture firms - 10 Design, Weston Williamson + Partners, SvN, FIA, U+A and Omrania.
Each firm focuses on distinct key sectors, together presenting a unique and holistic approach to reinventing and improving the built environment. The Architecture Line operates both between international architecture firms and regionally focused firms in the Middle East, the two working in synergy to deliver the best in design and delivery.
With over 1200 architects and designers driving 230M Euros of revenue worldwide, The Egis’ Architecture Line has embarked on a 5 year business plan which targets an organic 6.5% CAGR and an additional 30% external growth to reach 390M Euros of revenue by 2029. Operations are currently carried out from 20 studios across 5 continents, showcasing global, expert-driven design and delivery of multisector architecture and urban design to tackle some of the most pressing issues of future cities and the climate emergency. A major focus in the strategy is to ensure a balanced, agile business across multiple geographies and sectors, with growth priorities in the UK, North America and ANZ.

Role Overview:
The Managing Director will be responsible for leading the firm’s strategic approach to design, governance, business development, and operational efficiency. This role requires a balance of architectural expertise, project management acumen, and leadership skills to drive growth while ensuring design excellence and financial performance. The Managing Director will collaborate closely with design and project teams, finance, and business development to achieve company objectives.
Key Objectives:
1. Act as a legal representative of the group.
2. Possess a thorough knowledge of architectural work processes and systems, financial management/reporting processes and systems, in addition to general human resources issues.
3. Provide design leadership oversight to ensure high-quality, innovative design solutions across all projects.
4. Drive the development and growth of the Company, with a specific focus on the North American market.
5. Provide clear leadership and direction to all senior executives in accordance with the agreed strategy of the Board.
6. Deliver the profitability and sales targets set by the Board through the PMOs and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
1. Define and execute FIA’s strategic vision in alignment with the Egis Group’s growth objectives.
2. Drive business expansion through market analysis, client engagement, and project acquisition.
3. Represent FIA as a legal and corporate leader in business dealings and industry events.
Design & Project Oversight
1. Provide leadership oversight to ensure high-quality, innovative design solutions across all projects.
2. Oversee operational project management directors (PMOs) to ensure project planning, resource allocation, and risk management to maintain profitability.
3. Act as a key decision-maker for key design approvals and client escalations.
Financial & Operational Management
1. Set and achieve profitability and sales targets in collaboration with finance and project management teams.
2. Monitor project budgets, contracts, and risk assessments to optimize financial performance.
3. Improve operational processes and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.
Team Leadership & Development
1. Responsible for selecting and motivating team members and working with them to establish clear goals in line with the company objectives.
2. Provide proactive support to staff through KPI development.
3. Have an integral involvement in the performance evaluation of all technical staff in conjunction with the PMOs.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
1. Act as the senior representative for clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
2. Ensure, with the BD team, that long-term client relationships are maintained.
Business Development & Marketing
1. Work with marketing and business development teams to identify new project opportunities.
2. Drive strategic partnerships, networking, and public relations efforts.
3. Ensure FIA’s participation in key industry events, competitions, and award submissions.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree educated – Architect master level.
* Registered architect COAM or equivalent in country of origin.
* EU work permit.
* At least 15 years’ experience with no less than 10 years’ experience acting in a management position within a consultancy.
* Extensive experience in architecture, project management, and leadership within the sports infrastructure sector.
* Strong business acumen with a proven track record in strategic growth and financial management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to drive innovation and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluency in Spanish and English at a professional level is required. Knowledge of a third language will be considered an asset.
