The Role
As the gatekeeper of our venues, you play an integral role within a team of hospitality professionals in our historic building. Collaborating with the team, you ensure each guest's arrival is personalized and memorable, orchestrating the evening like a conductor. What You Will Do
* Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place, and Character, fostering collaboration, intuition, and trans-local hospitality.
* Assist guests throughout their experience, from greeting in an inviting environment, preparing the host stand, reviewing reservations, making room setup recommendations, to executing requests promptly and ensuring guest satisfaction.
* Participate in daily line-ups and quarterly staff meetings to develop ideas, provide feedback, and strategize improvements.
* Inspect dining and private rooms for cleanliness and proper setup before opening.
* Manage menus, ensuring they are in good condition and correctly placed.
* Develop a thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, and daily availability.
* Know the server stations, assignments, timing patterns, workload capacities, and assist in closing shifts properly.
* Answer phones according to hotel standards, handle reservations, and provide information about the restaurant and hotel services.
* Set and reset tables, carry trays, and complete side work as assigned.
* Monitor physical facilities and report issues for maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with F&B and Culinary teams to ensure timely food delivery.
* Assist in other F&B department areas as needed.
What You Will Need
* Passion for People, Place, and Culture, with a love for restaurants and guest service.
* Minimum one year experience as a Host in a restaurant setting.
* Experience with reservation platforms.
* Basic skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* TiPS Alcohol Service Certification and SafeStaff Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days.
* Must meet local age requirements for alcohol service.
* Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.
* Weekend availability.
* Ability to stand/walk for most of shift, negotiate wet floors, and steps.
* Fine motor skills for pouring, decorating, and setting tables.
* Ability to lift/carry 30 lbs., and handle hot liquids and candles safely.
