Job Description

Madrid, ES

Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partner, Spain, you will be responsible for leading the provision of business partnering support to the Market Revenue function leadership team. You will also deliver FP&A activities including preparation of Month End variance analysis and preparation, consolidation and presentation of Budgets/CEs.

You will be strategic decision‑making, collaborating across all Revenue functional teams. Working closely with the Sales Divisions, Digital Operations, Consumer, CNCC teams. The role will build and sustain deep relationships, partnering across the function to influence and drive optimal business performance and achievement of key financial targets, including maximization of margin and driving new revenue streams. You will work with Senior Executives to achieve their targets through the interpretation of data and formation of palatable recommendations and actionable insights. You will participate in projects that impact the Market and play an active role in EMEA Region and Global Revenue Function initiatives aimed at driving best practice and standardizing approaches, taking a leadership role from time‑to‑time to support initiatives and special projects.

You will report to the Director, Finance Business Partner and provide more general support to ensure that the Market is achieving its targets and deputising for the Director when they are out of the business. Key responsibilities include:

Business Partnering
* Work with Revenue teams to understand performance and evaluate and execute growth opportunities, providing financial advice and insights to support decision making.
* Work with Revenue teams to develop deeper analysis of performance and ways to benchmark and report on Revenue & Gross Profit results, and establish review processes with Revenue team to agree effective ways to track and forecast performance
* Work in partnership and collaborate across all the departments in the Revenue organization (Advertising Sales, Consumer revenue lines of business, CNCC teams), providing insightful analysis and recommendations to drive revenue and margin improvement.
* Ad Revenue analysis: support the Revenue function in ad hoc analysis about daily sales pipeline reporting and revenue dashboard.
* Provide inputs to review contracts, ensuring GP target thresholds are achieved, including advising on pricing, deal margin analysis, creation of goals and quotas, analysis of revenue risk/opportunities, and performance to goal tracking.
* Advocate across functions to ensure that financial perspectives are reflected in key decisions.
* Support the Director FBP in preparing strategic analysis, business case development and ad hoc analysis as required to support Market, Europe Regional and Global strategic initiatives.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
* Conduct detailed review of Budget/CE guidelines set by Corporate FP&A and targets from Revenue Global Functional Business Partner team to ensure all Revenue specific impacts are understood and reflected in the planning and ongoing reporting process. Communicate any impacts with the Market Revenue Functional teams and Market Controller, where relevant
* Prepare and consolidate Budgets/CE for the Revenue and Content Functional teams.
* Provide detailed support to the Content Operations team in the market in preparing Brand content Budgets, incorporating the budgets approved by the Global Brands and the Global Content Finance teams to the local budgets.
* Prepare Budget CE/s for Enabling Functions OPEX as per the inputs received from the Global Finance Business Partners Enabling Functions, incorporating any local nuances and costs not directly managed by the global teams.
* Review Budgets/CE with the Revenue function senior leadership and agree plans to achieve targets.
* Respond to queries from the Director, FP&A EMEA and Revenue Global Revenue Functional Finance Business Partnering team.
* Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
Performance Management & ME Reporting
* Work collaboratively with the Market Controller to ensure that all Month End outputs are completed accurately and on time, working together to understand and resolve any issues materially impacting the accuracy of the actual results.
* Prepare Month End variance analysis and commentary and present results, identifying key risks and opportunities and action plans to address.
* Support activities to determine action plans to address potential risks to the achievement of the Market’s key performance targets.
* Respond to queries from the Market’s Functional Executives, Director, FP&A EMEA and Revenue Global Finance Business Partnering team
* Work with the EMEA Regional FP&A team to eliminate any non‑standard reporting / KPIs and adopt global standards.
Market and EMEA Region Support
* Support the review of Market P&L performance, identifying and developing plans to ensure the achievement of key targets.
* Participate in EMEA Region Squads aimed at promoting best practice in key Revenue related activities, sharing ideas and networking and running special projects and initiatives that will drive greater standardization in approach across the Region. Lead one of the “Squads” across EMEA if required.
* Provide analytical support as part of more strategic / cross Regional analysis to input Market specific opportunities and risks
* Contribute as requested to LRP and convert assumptions and targets into Brand, Platform and Market plans
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. A qualified accountant title (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) recommended.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in related roles. Preferably with a focus on Commercial Finance and a deep understanding of sales and marketing dynamics. Experience in the media industry or relevant sectors is highly desiderable.
* Strong communications, influencing and interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to challenges. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations in a business language adapted to specific audiences.
* An ability to think outside the box and a desire to use financial skills to develop and grow the business.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to quickly collect, interpret, analyze and present financial data in an accurate and concise manner.
* Proficiency in the use of emerging data technologies, capabilities, practices and strategies. Inner tendency to leverage the improvements that technology brings to the Finance Function.
* Self-driven with ability to multi‑task and work with minimal supervision in a deadline‑oriented environment.
* Proven creative problem‑solving and quantitative skills. A strategic thinker who is also proficient in modeling in-depth analyses from the ground up using Excel.
* Expert level of proficiency in financial systems, ERPs and reporting and BI tools. Knowledge of EPM, Workday, and Salesforce would be a plus.
* Quick learner and problem solver.
