Offer Description
The University of Barcelona School of Economics is seeking a skilled and motivated research technician to support a Horizon EU-funded project. INSPIRE project supports sustainable and inclusive development of European rural areas by promoting social wellbeing and inclusion of rural dwellers and vulnerable groups. In particular, the project contributes to advancing in a multi-dimensional way the concept of social inclusion in rural areas, and supports the access to high-quality social services by rural citizens through a series of awareness raising, capacity-building, and pilot deployment activities that focus on social entrepreneurship in a set of 7 different pilot territories (e.g., coastal, rural, peri-urban, mountainous).
The research team is composed by members of the UB School of Economics (the project coordinator at UB, Rosina Moreno, Vicente Royuela, and Jordi López-Tamayo, all members of the AQR-IREA Research Group).
The tasks to be developed will be the following: Support for research; assistance and collaboration in the development of the project's objectives. Preparation and layout of results. Support in the preparation of scientific articles from the results of the project.

* Ability to undertake literature reviews and synthesise evidence effectively
Preferred skills (but not essential):
* Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams and/or in development settings
* Interest and enthusiasm for working on the project topic
* Knowledge on the treatment of the information collected through observational fieldwork
* Knowledge of software for mapping and use of spatial econometric techniques
* Knowledge on multivariate statistical methods (PCA, cluster analysis, machine learning methods)
Specific Requirements
* Experience in assisting with research projects and preparing scientific results.
* Knowledge of academic writing and experience in preparing scientific articles.
* Proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and document formatting.
* Previous experience in research-related administrative tasks will be valued.
* Familiarity with the project's field of study is desirable.

Eligibility criteria
The selection is made through the evaluation of the curriculum, with an overall score of zero (0) to ten (10) points. The minimum score is five (5) points. The evaluation criteria are the following:
- Suitability of the candidate to the main function to be carried out
- Curricular experience
- Professional knowledge and skills
- Communication skills and motivation.
The tribunal, in its constitutive session, assesses the CVs of the candidates presented.
Selection process
A resolution of adjudication is issued to the person who, having passed the selection procedure, obtains the highest score and publishes the prioritised list of applicants who have passed the selection process, indicating the scores obtained, for subsequent recruitment, if necessary.
Additional comments
Duration of the contract of employment: 12 months, renewable up to 1 year until 30/09/2027.
The candidate proposed for hiring must accept the job offer within 5 working days from the date of notification of the selection.
Priority will be given to people with disabilities (Law 89/2015 of June 2, reserve of quota 2% in favour of people with disabilities in companies of 50 or more people).
Be ware that the starting date sets in this offer is an estimate date. The official starting date will depend on the bureaucratic time that will take the preparation of the labour contract and presentation of the necessary documents to be hired by the selected candidate.
