Senior Software Engineer - Business Systems (Billing & Invoicing). Remote Spain. Location: Our Senior Software Engineer will be an integral part of our Business Systems Engineering team. This role is based remotely as a full-time employee in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Israel. We are also open to contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal. The Opportunity: As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on Business Systems, you will be actively involved in planning, design, and implementation of improvements and new features for our critical billing and invoicing systems. You will be a key contributor to ongoing development of these platforms, lead integrations with other business systems, engage with stakeholders to identify challenges, and guide the development of innovative solutions to streamline operations. You’ll work with product managers, finance teams, and other developers, participate in product decision-making, and have end-to-end ownership of projects to improve the efficiency and accuracy of DoiT’s core financial operations. Responsibilities
Leading feature implementation.
From proposal through spec, implementation, and maintenance. Propose and guide enhancements to products. Collaborating and problem-solving.
Engage with business stakeholders (finance and operations) to understand needs, identify inefficiencies in billing/invoicing processes, and lead the development of technical solutions. Reviewing code.
Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers on best practices for quality and maintainability. Improving codebase health.
Help manage technical debt; participate in regular housekeeping and refactor efforts. Providing feedback and technical guidance.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship; participate in planning and early risk/unknowns identification. Qualifications
5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role. A Full Stack engineer or Backend engineer with a desire to become a Full Stack engineer. 3+ years of hands-on experience in Go, with ideally knowledge of Python, React and Node.js. Experience with other languages is a plus; eager to learn. Embraces continuous development and learning. Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles. Demonstrated passion for creating high-quality web/SaaS apps. Experience with Git/GitHub. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Self-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, thorough and tenacious. Ability to operate flexibly in a fast-paced, evolving team environment. A sense of humor and ability to work enjoyably with others. Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions. Strong interest in optimizing business processes and solving operational hurdles. Proven experience leading technical projects from conception to deployment. Bonus Points
Experience with business systems such as Oracle NetSuite, DealHub, and Salesforce. Experience with business processing tools like Workato and Fivetran. Cloud development experience and/or use of Cloud services. About Do’er
