About the job
We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist for our Shared Service Center in the city center of Barcelona.
The key responsibilities are:
* Plan and execute the payroll process for each payroll period, acting as the link between local HR and the payroll providers.
* Obtain the necessary information from stakeholders for payroll-related data changes, including approvals.
* Process payroll accurately and document all reviews, rejections, and approvals.
* Review payroll results and be responsible for the first payroll approval.
* Store all control evidence consistently in a secure digital location for audit purposes.
* Coordinate payroll and tax payments within agreed deadlines.
* Provide information, answering any questions from internal employees or management regarding wages, benefits and other related matters.
* Research and resolve errors and anomalies.
* Prepare relevant monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
* Build strong collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders.
* Participate in the resolution of day-to-day issues that arise, including problems with customers, third parties, internal teams and our internal systems as needed.
Set yourself apart
* You have an academic degree (Bachelor or Master) or relevant experience in payroll.
* You have a solid understanding of payroll processes and calendars.
* You are fluent in English, another European language is an advantage.
* You are customer oriented with a positive collaborative attitude.
* You are organized and have an attention for detail.
* You are proactive and independent with a hands-on mentality and are constantly looking for potential process improvements.
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in payroll (prior experience in a Shared Service Center or a payroll provider environment is an advantage).
