About the Role
* As a Multimedia News Producer, you will be part of the India digital desk in Bangalore, responsible for sub-editing, localising, and filing stories with relevant multimedia assets for media clients subscribing to our ready-to-publish packages (Reuters Ready) and for our revamped news website.
* This is a 24 / 7 desk, requiring shift work and weekend availability.
About You
You are suitable for this role if your background includes :
* A degree in Journalism / Mass Communication from a reputed university or institute.
* At least 4 years of experience in a news agency, newspaper, or TV newsroom.
* Excellent writing skills and strong news judgment.
* Knowledge of politics, economy, policy, markets, technology, sports, and entertainment, with multimedia experience.
* High creativity, with the ability to generate excellent web packaging ideas and think beyond the obvious.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Ability to edit and package content quickly and accurately for the web.
* Proficiency with editorial technology.
* Solid understanding of legal risks and strong ethics.
* Attention to detail, with an understanding of our target audience of sophisticated news consumers, ensuring the website is updated with curated stories, photos, slideshows, and videos from Reuters wires, photo, and video services.
* Ability to liaise with editors in NY and London to curate and design the homepage and landing pages on reuters.com.
* Proficiency in proofreading social media posts, mobile alerts, Google panels, and corrections.
