The Candidate
A driven self-starter with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. You are creative, critical, and capable of implementing innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment. Your attention to detail is keen, and you proactively execute tasks with precision. A positive, ownership-driven attitude and an approachable nature enable you to connect seamlessly with team members and stakeholders. As a sous chef, you will deliver exceptional experiences across our award-winning destinations, unlocking your potential in a vibrant environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* A culinary degree or equivalent qualification (preferred).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English and Spanish.
* Legal right to work in Europe, including visas or permits.
* Proven experience as a sous chef in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants.
* Experience in pre-opening or setting up kitchen operations is advantageous.
* Strong organizational and leadership skills to inspire the team.
* Experience with Forbes or LQA-rated properties is a plus.
* Extensive knowledge of international cuisine, culinary techniques, and food trends.
* Understanding of HACCP and health & safety standards.
* Exceptional time management and multi-tasking abilities.
* Ability to manage inventory, control costs, and execute orders efficiently.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to create innovative menus with local, seasonal ingredients.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
* Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering professional growth and culinary excellence.
* Introduce new dishes and techniques, staying ahead of industry trends.
* Prioritize guest satisfaction by addressing dietary needs and special requests.
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
* Manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste.
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Assist with administrative tasks and step in for the Chef de Cuisine when needed.
* Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies for enhancement.
* Maintain effective communication within the culinary team and other departments.
