PRIVATE - 1st Mate for Oyster 885 - dual season
STARTING APRIL 2026 - Calling all passionate sailors! This is most definitely a sailing yacht and not so much a floating hotel. We are looking for a longterm sailing First Mate for this Oyster 885 with an exciting itinerary of a Scandinavian summer and Caribbean winter. The first year will be privately run, and then a mix of private and charter use in the Caribbean. So, we are asking for strong sailors first and foremost, however hospitality and charter skills will be highly beneficial.
The First Mate will be joining the longterm Captain/Engineer and Chef couple team and the Deck/Stew to form a strong team of 4 crew. Candidates must be happy to share a bunk cabin with the Deck/Stew. These owners are fully aware that the right crew makes or breaks their own experience on board. They want to ensure the best candidates are sourced for the positions. Interviews will begin in February.
* Experience as Skipper of smaller yachts or Deckhand on larger sailing yachts
* Confident sailor and watchkeeper
* Deck maintenance experience inc. tender and toys
* Basic medical training a plus
* Watersports experience/Scuba diving experience/interest
* Charter experience or similar - beneficial
