Quality Engineer - Production Process (Optics Specialization)
Position summary:
We are looking for aJunior Quality Engineerto join our team in Vilanova i la Geltrú. The role bridges engineering and production, focusing on product industrialization and quality control. Key tasks include reviewing technical drawings, drafting work procedures, and leading improvement projects
Position reports to:Quality Manager
As a Quality engineer you would:
* Supervise and ensure quality at every stage of the production process.
* Design and validate inspection methods focused on optical components.
* Manage non-conformities and lead root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.).
* Coordinate the calibration and correct use of optical measurement equipment (interferometers, spectrophotometers, microscopy, etc.).
* Implement and maintain control plans and quality documentation.
* Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or others).
* Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to optimize processes and industrialization.
* Train production staff on quality and optical control topics.
Requirements:
* Optical metrology and optical measurement systems.
* Interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
* Production processes involving optical and laser components.
* Quality standards and statistical tools.
* Quality management systems (ISO 9001).
Desired skills:
* Proactive person with initiative.
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving approach.
* Strong skills in data analysis and optical design software (Excel, Zemax, Matlab).
* Effective communication and teamwork.
