We are looking for an Environment and Energy Specialist for BMI in the Madrid/Toledo area!

BMI is looking for an Environment and Energy Specialist to join our HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) area.
Your responsibilities will be…
* Support to the organisation to ensure HSE regulatory compliance is maintained by monitoring the requirements of all interested parties (e.g. governmental agencies, local authorities, insurance Companies, Group, professional association, etc.) and by assisting with the development and management of regulatory compliance programs for HSE related topics. In particular, he/she supports plant managers for communication with local authorities and mandatory reporting to third parties (air emissions, waste, waste water, CO2 quotas, packaging (SCRAP regulation)…).
Continuous improvement:
* Organise the deployment of the energy management system
* Maintains and improves the Environmental Management System according to the relevant regulations and Group standards.
* Defines Environmental and Energy procedures integrated with Health & Safety procedures.
* Assesses and plans preventive measures and interventions to reduce the risk of accidents and to reduce environmental impacts.
* Organises and conducts periodic internal audits and manages related non-conformities and corrective actions.
* Assess & check all environment legal requirements in the scope, spot the gaps and deploy a plan to close it, including new regulations such as Packaging
* Indicators and targets
* Organises the monitoring of environment indicators, including CO2 scope 1-2-3, analyses trends and defines measurement needs and actions.
* Participates in the implementation of annual reduction objectives in line with Group targets.
* Review potential incentives that could benefit BMI.
* Knowledge and Best practices sharing
* Participates in the Group Environmental Specialist workshops and contributes to improving the Group management system.
* Shares best practices from the plants and defines implementation plans in line with plant managers (contributes to Business cases for standardised solutions building).
* Shares knowledge about environmental impacts (Training and behavioural change).
* Availability to travel 30% of the time within the national territory to the different plants and warehouses to follow up on HSE needs and compliance.
We expect you to have the following technical skills…
* Education: Degree in Environmental Sciences, Degree in Environmental Engineering or Master's Degree in Environmental Management or Sustainability.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in the industrial sector in similar positions or HSE positions with a significant environmental part.
* Expert knowledge of environmental regulations, experience in managing regulatory watch.
* Practical experience with ISO 50001 appreciated.
* English: B2-C1
