Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, your main functions/tasks will be:
* Programming and commissioning PLC and SCADA, adapting the functionality of the machine to the project definition.
* Resolving and diagnosing system faults both in the factory and at customer sites.
* Providing remote technical support (internal and external) for our install base worldwide.
* Offering technical support during FAT and CAT.
* Supporting start-up at the customer's site with debugging of all machine functionalities.
* Providing customer training.
* Generating manuals and technical documentation.
* Informing management about the technical status of projects.
* Creating incident resolution reports for database and review purposes.
* Supporting project assembly departments with tools or technical strategies.
* Managing incidents and providing client feedback.
* Supporting Vanderlande subsystem products within the integrated product.
Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (e.g., Electronics, Mechatronics, or Software).
* 3-5 years of experience in material handling, automation, or related industry.
* Knowledge of TIA Portal, WinCC SCADA, etc.
* Understanding electrical drawings.
* Electrical knowledge for validation, failure detection, and troubleshooting.
* Knowledge/Experience of EU and US electrical and safety norms.
* Experience with Frequency Inverters, HMI, and related products.
* Experience in field installation, start-up, commissioning, and service.
* Programming experience with PLC-controlled systems, including safety designs, motor protection/control, and industrial communication/networking (e.g., ASibus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Profinet).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Field engineering experience on site.
* Experience with Linux.
* Interest in computer science.
What will you be doing?
As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the specialized PAX team responsible for deploying and providing 3rd level support for our systems. Support may be remote or onsite, requiring 50-60% travel, mainly in Europe but possibly worldwide. This role offers opportunities to visit different countries and experience diverse cultures.
You will collaborate with the PAX team on automated airport lines. Manufacturing is based in Santpedor. When not traveling, you will support the service manager, factory, engineering, development, projects, or testing scenarios in the field. You will also serve as the go-to person for 3rd line support.
