Requirements
1. We’re looking for an experienced Data Center Technician, with practice in rack, stack equipment including commissioning of new racks and Strong structured cabling skills on fibre & copper (, term & test)
2. With deep knowledge in Troubleshooting and repair hardware systems and knowledge in networking fundamentals and Linux and other SO administration.
We believe you will need to have the following experience, but we also expect you to bring your own unique experiences to the position. Not everyone is the same, and we value individual critical thinking and wide perspectives that we may not have had before.
The Candidate
3. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR equivalent work experience
4. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate interest and knowledge in the position and a willingness to learn on the job – gap year students also considered
5. Experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems)
6. Demonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problems
7. Experience working in a “mission critical operations” environment
8. The position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift up to 25Kg and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations
9. Ability to speak confidently and to communicate clearly in a virtual environment
10. Strong adherence to processes and be a Process Champion
11. Good communication skills (oral & written) and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and staff
12. Experience providing client-facing, direct customer support and service.
13. Ability to work productively in remote cross-functional teams or resourcefully and independently as an individual
14. Highly service-oriented, reliable, responsible, self-motivated
15. Good English command
Role Responsibilities
16. Act as HW support expert liaison to other technical teams & non-technical teams (.: networking, compute, compliance, business operations)
17. Understand internal customer problems and provide technical solution in timely manner
18. Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware at Oracle data centers
19. System board level repair and fault diagnosis to SLAs
20. Planning and commissioning new rack positions
21. Involvement with the design and commissioning of new whitespaces
22. Structured cabling installation is a significant part of this position
23. Keep up with the latest technologies and apply them appropriately
24. Adherence to defined Health & Safety processes at all times
25. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team without friction
26. Available to travel in EMEA
Daily Job Duties:
27. Hardware installation & decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
28. Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure.
29. Rack and stack of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems, and other equipment.
30. Rack installation including putting racks in place, cabling, power up, and hand-off of servers to internal provisioning teams.
31. Monitoring of DC environments using monitoring tools.
32. Monitoring and responding in a ticketing environment that is used and monitored by multiple internal Oracle Cloud service owners and teams.
33. Documentation of activities and strict alignment to SOP’s.
34. Decommission life cycle of data center hardware.
35. Inventory process, order replacement parts, and return failed parts as required.
36. Structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables.
37. System power supplies and cabling install, troubleshooting, and repair.
38. You should be able to complete small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and completing larger local projects.
