About the Role :
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our Loan Agency Services business in Southern Europe. This individual will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strong client and intermediary relationships, and driving revenue growth across syndicated loan markets, private credit, and structured finance transactions. Reporting to our London-based Global Head of Capital Markets Sales you will also have the opportunity to work on cross-product transactions leveraging Apex’s global financial services offering.
Key Responsibilities :
* Market Development :
Identify and pursue new business mandates in the loan agency space including syndicated loans, direct lending, and private debt.
* Client Acquisition :
Build and maintain relationships with financial sponsors, banks, private equity firms, debt funds, law firms, debt advisors and corporate borrowers with a focus on Southern Europe.
* Sales Strategy :
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
* Pitching & Proposals :
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, RFP responses, and commercial proposals tailored to client needs.
* Industry Engagement :
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility.
* Collaboration :
Work closely with internal teams (client services, operations, onboarding) to ensure seamless client experience and service delivery.
* Market Intelligence :
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategy and product positioning.
Qualifications & Experience :
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Law, or related field
* 5+ years of experience in the loan market, preferably in loan agency
* Strong understanding of syndicated loans, LMA documentation, and agency roles.
* Strong existing relationships with market players
* Ability to work independently and towards an ambitious sales target
* Willing to navigate and cross-sell the extensive wider Apex single-source solution
* Communicative personality with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
