We are currently looking to hire two Resource Assessment Engineers, one focused on Wind and the other on Solar PV, to join our Madrid office.
Main Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will depend on your area of specialization:
Wind Resource Engineer
* Design and execution of wind measurement campaigns using met masts, LiDAR, or SoDAR.
* Data analysis and processing from measurement equipment, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Supervision of subcontractors for instrumentation maintenance and data management.
* Energy yield assessments, including production estimates, loss calculations, and uncertainty analysis.
* Site verification in accordance with IEC 61400-1 standards.
* Layout design (manual and automated), flow modeling, and long-term production simulation.
* Wind turbine selection and site suitability assessment.
* Power curve compliance analysis and performance monitoring of operational assets.
* Engagement with OEMs, participation in technical meetings, and support during procurement processes.
* Development of internal tools and improvement of existing methodologies.
* Preparation of technical documentation to support investment decisions.
* Occasional site visits during project development or construction phases.
Solar Resource Engineer
* Technical and design support to optimize energy production and reduce construction and leasing costs for PV plants.
* Development and review of PV plant layouts, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment sizing, and system optimization.
* Electrical calculations and review of LV/MV systems, grounding, and electrical protections.
* Monitoring and improving engineering deliverables and ensuring compliance with internal standards.
* Solar resource assessment and performance simulations based on site-specific data.
* Development of tools and procedures to enhance quality and consistency in plant designs.
* Support to O&M teams for performance analysis and troubleshooting.
* SCADA design review to ensure alignment with metering and project requirements.
* Coordination with equipment manufacturers and suppliers during the design and procurement stages.
* Support in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies or design improvements.
What We’re Looking For
We are hiring one engineer for Wind and one for Solar PV. Below are the specific requirements for each profile:
Wind Profile
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or similar. A Master's in Renewable Energy is a plus.
* 2–3 years of experience in wind resource assessment or similar roles.
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Advanced knowledge of WindPro, WAsP, Windographer, Windfarmer, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
* Experience with Meteodyn or similar CFD tools is highly valued.
* Fluent in English (C1). Knowledge of Italian is a plus.
Solar Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in utility-scale PV plant engineering.
* Solid understanding of PV performance metrics (e.G., PR, availability) and engineering design (DC/AC, civil works, high-voltage lines, substations).
* Advanced user of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Q-GIS or equivalent.
* Skilled in MS Excel and PVsyst (or equivalent simulation software).
* Fluent in English and Spanish. Willingness to travel internationally is required.
