The Director, Business Ethics & Investigations plays a pivotal role in strengthening the organization's culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency. The role is accountable for the general dsm‐firmenich whistleblowing and investigations framework, ensuring concerns are raised safely, investigated fairly, and resolved consistently—without retaliation.
Key Responsibilities
Whistleblowing (Speak Up) & Ethics FrameworkOwn and continuously improve the global whistleblowing and non‐retaliation framework, ensuring trusted reporting, legal compliance, and consistent governance.
Investigations LeadershipLead and oversee complex, high‐risk, and cross‐border investigations to ensure objective, fair, and timely outcomes.
Fraud & Forensic InvestigationsProvide senior oversight and expertise for fraud, financial misconduct, corruption, and data‐related investigations, including use of forensic capabilities.
Learning, Insights & Continuous ImprovementLeverage investigation and fraud case data to identify trends and root causes, and translate insights into targeted training, capability building, and preventive actions that strengthen ethical decision‐making and program effectiveness.
Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder EngagementProvide clear reporting and trusted advisory support to senior leadership, Ethics Committees, and auditors on ethics, investigations, and fraud matters.
Business Ethics Program & CoBE ContributionContribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Business Ethics program and Code of Business Ethics (CoBE) through cross‐functional collaboration.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Ethics & Compliance within multinational organizations (B2B / B2C), including leading global programs, managing teams, and partnering closely with senior leaders on highrisk, sensitive matters.
Bachelor's degree (Master's degree strongly preferred) in law, business, compliance, finance, or related field; complemented by recognized professional certifications such as CCEP‐I, CCO, CFCS, CFE, CRCMP.
Strong knowledge of advanced investigative methodologies, effective use of emerging technologies (AI), and a commitment to continuous development.
