Seedworld Studios is looking for a Senior or Middle Technical Artist with strong expertise in Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and optimizing shader and environment assets, diagnosing technical issues in Blueprints, and supporting the integration and setup of assets and environments within the engine to ensure efficient, high-quality game production. A Technical Artist will work closely with artists and programmers to help with profiling and optimization to achieve targeted game performance. You will participate in implementing technical art features, developing tools and workflows, and debugging tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
* Optimization and profiling to ensure peak performance on all platforms, especially next-gen.
* Lead QA efforts to ensure assets are 100% optimal, bug-free, and shippable.
* Ensure graphic bugs are fixed according to priorities and support other artists.
* Integrate, validate, and optimize graphic data in the engine, using scripts if needed.
* Act as the gatekeeper of Technical Art constraints, balancing visual quality and performance.
* Collaborate with Art Leads, Engineering Leads, and QA to ensure assets meet technical and artistic standards.
* Use the latest tools and methods to improve the graphic workload.
* Maintain and improve production pipelines and workflows.
* Share best practices, conduct training, and mentor team members.
* Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, processes, and engine constraints.
Qualifications:
* Experience with Unreal Engine, performance profiling, and optimization tools.
* Strong understanding of the Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen tech.
* Knowledge in Modeling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders (PBR/GLSL/HLSL), VFX.
* Proficiency in Source Control (Perforce).
* Experience collaborating across disciplines with artists, programmers, and technical directors.
* Programming skills in Python, Unreal Blueprints, C++.
* Experience with 3D software such as Maya, 3Ds Max, Houdini, or Blender.
* Willingness to learn and adopt new next-gen game technologies.
* Ability to work under pressure, learn quickly, and build strong team relationships.
* Strong organizational skills and complex workflow management.
* Creative problem-solving and innovation skills.
