We are looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and efficiency of our financial operations in Spain. The jobholder will oversee accounting activities, financial controls, reporting, budgeting, cost analysis and regulatory compliance. The candidate will ensure the delivery of timely, reliable financial information and maintain strong financial systems and internal controls. The role works closely with the Finance Manager and Corporate Finance Department in the UK and other internal stakeholders, and will coordinate with auditors and external partners when required. This position is primarily office-based.
Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
Maintain the computerised accounting system.
Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.
Assess the effectiveness of accounting software and databases.
Execute a comprehensive set of controls.
Submit tax returns (mainly VAT).
Create and maintain dashboards and financial analysis reports.
Cost control and analytical accounting.
Experience with accounting software.
Ability to enter and manage all accounting documentation in the system.
Experience providing support to the Finance Manager.
Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAGE).
Experience in analytical accounting (not essential but recommended).
Knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI or similar), not essential but recommended.
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
Fluent in Spanish and English; good level of Catalan is recommended.
