As Senior Strategic Buyer at Lonza, you will partner with Central Procurement to align site needs with category strategies and drive cross-site sourcing initiatives. You’ll lead tendering, negotiation, and contracting to secure optimal commercial outcomes while supporting global and regional sourcing, standardization, and procurement automation.
You’ll monitor savings, assess risks, and manage supplier relationships to ensure supply continuity for indirect materials. This role offers a dynamic, inclusive environment where your work supports Lonza’s mission to advance medicines.

- Collaborate with Central Procurement and support category managers to translate site needs into category actions
- Implement category strategies across multiple sites and drive delegated spend sourcing
- Lead tendering, negotiations, contracting, and provide purchasing expertise
- Support global and regional sourcing, promote standardization, and boost efficiency through automation and digital tools
- Track savings, identify risks and opportunities, and promote e-catalogues and e-auctions
- Ensure supply continuity for indirect materials and manage supplier portfolios per policy
- Conduct supply-risk assessments and implement mitigation for financial, capacity, quality, and single-source risks
Responsabilidades
- BSC in Business, Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain (minimum)
- Experience in Operational Procurement and Strategic Buying/Category management for consumables, services, and CAPEX
- Background in a regulated industry with understanding of ISO 9000
- Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
- Hands-on SAP ERP and SAP Ariba (indirect) experience
- Hands-on Microsoft Office experience
