Lead Field Service Technician – Thermal Works LLC (Endeavour. Inspired Infrastructure.)
Thermal Works LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Field Service Technician to join our team, focusing on startup/commissioning and service for all Thermal Works equipment. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with foundational knowledge in HVAC, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-changing environment. Our goals are to deliver integrated cooling solutions for data centers and commercial buildings that reduce energy demand, water use, and cooling costs.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works’ U.S. headquarters.
* Manage preventive maintenance and service schedules.
* Perform on-site quality control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
* Perform all preventive maintenance and service needs for clients.
* Be available to address emergency issues when on call.
* Monitor service software to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
* Collaborate with different departments within the company for product development and improvement.
* Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of Thermal Works equipment.
Qualifications
* Technical or Vocational Degree/Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or electromechanical systems (e.G., Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Térmicas y de Fluidos).
* F-Gas Category I Certification (EC Regulation No. 517/2014) is required for handling fluorinated gases.
* 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems for mission-critical infrastructure (data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities).
* Experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units, including installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with EU safety standards, pressure equipment directives (PED), and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
* Ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and system optimizations in live environments.
* Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
* Knowledge of hydronic systems and ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems.
* Understanding of refrigeration theory with hands-on applied knowledge.
* Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
* Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a plus).
* Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
* Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously.
