Role OverviewAs a Senior Data Center Construction Manager specialising in off‐site assembly and modularisation, you will lead strategic transformation across AWS EMEA Construction. Acting as the regional Subject‐Matter Expert (SME), you will drive adoption of prefabricated, precast and modular solutions across the EMEA data centre and power infrastructure portfolio which aggregates programmes spanning Civil, Structural, Architectural, Systems (CSAS), Mechanical (MS) and Electrical (ES) systems.
Working Conditions
Based in Zaragoza, Spain, this is an EMEA‐wide strategic role influencing delivery across Spain, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France and the Nordics.
40–50 % travel across EMEA.

Key Job Responsibilities
Strategy & Mechanism Ownership
Own EMEA contribution to the global off‐site assembly portfolio, including tracking labour hours shifted off‐site across CSAS, Mechanical and Electrical systems.
Develop repeatable frameworks for evaluating and implementing modular solutions.
Establish governance, reporting and metrics to measure adoption, cost impact, schedule compression, safety improvements and quality outcomes.
Build scalable mechanisms to embed constructability and prefabrication into project lifecycle decisions.
Cross‐Functional Leadership
Partner with Preconstruction, Procurement, Design and Operations to embed constructability and modular thinking early in project development.
Represent EMEA within the global Off‐Site Assembly team and adapt global innovations to regional market conditions.
Influence General Contractors and vendors across multiple markets to develop and adopt innovative prefabricated solutions.
Enable regional Construction Managers through knowledge transfer and technical guidance.
Technical & Market Development
Define technical standards for prefabricated systems aligned to AWS design requirements and local codes.
Build and maintain an approved vendor ecosystem across Europe.
Develop business cases quantifying labour reduction, schedule resilience, safety improvements and total cost impact.
Drive competitive tension to improve cost, quality and delivery timelines.
Safety, Risk & Scaling
Shift high‐risk activities (e.g. work at height, confined space) to controlled factory environments.
Identify and mitigate modular risks including logistics, transportation, sequencing and interface management.
Lead pilot implementations and scale successful solutions across multiple regions.
Create playbooks and training mechanisms to standardise adoption.
Key Objectives
Measurable reduction in onsite labour hours across EMEA.
Schedule compression and improved float through modular adoption.
Improved safety performance and reduced construction waste.
Standardised prefabricated systems deployed regionally.
Robust reporting framework quantifying hours shifted off‐site and associated quality/safety improvements.
Strategic partnerships with qualified European fabrication vendors.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Strong knowledge of CSA, Mechanical and Electrical systems
10+ years managing mission‐critical projects
5+ years in off‐site construction or modularisation for data centres or similar infrastructure
Proven experience influencing contractors and scaling new construction methodologies
Experience with RFPs, change management, quality control and portfolio reporting
Fluency in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish
Experience working across multiple European construction markets
Strong financial and business case modelling capability
Additional European language skills a plus
Professional certifications (PE, PMP, LEED) preferred
