FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Commercial Director, your main responsibility will be to generate budgeted revenue and RevPAR for the hotel through effective revenue management strategies. You will support all sales initiatives to surpass budgeted goals, uphold hotel and group standards, maximize profits, and deliver exceptional guest service.
Essential Functions
1. Oversee the Sales and Events Department, develop team action plans, analyze trends, and adjust strategies to enhance revenue.
2. Lead by example: assist in training and mentoring sales managers, identify areas for improvement, and support their development.
3. Create and implement sales action plans for various segments including group, corporate, leisure, and catering; set goals and review team performance quarterly.
4. Support the development and execution of the annual sales and marketing plan.
5. Analyze forecasts, costs, and revenue reports to inform sales strategies and ensure optimal RevPAR and market positioning.
6. Organize and participate in familiarization trips, sales blitzes, and missions in key markets, with detailed pre- and post-trip reports.
7. Attend relevant meetings such as BEOS, leadership, and sales meetings.
8. Maintain knowledge of market trends and competitive set data to inform revenue strategies; stay current with sales and marketing trends.
9. Assist in preparing the annual business plan for the hotel.
10. Manage sales resources within budget constraints.
11. Lead property group and transient meetings to maximize revenue and profit, especially in the absence of the Commercial Director.
12. Ensure compliance with hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines.
13. Oversee reporting of management and financial data for the sales department, including monthly reports and budgets.
14. Keep the team informed about upcoming groups, events, and VIP clients to anticipate needs and foster guest loyalty.
15. Maintain relationships with partners like CVENT, ALHI, HB to generate new business and increase hotel awareness.
16. Participate in sales calls and trade shows with pre- and post-trip planning and reporting.
17. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Customer Support, and HR departments.
Qualification Standards
* Bachelor's degree in hospitality or business preferred.
* At least 5 years of experience, including 3 years in a senior management or Assistant Director of Sales role within hospitality.
* Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus.
* Strong understanding of group, corporate, leisure, and event markets, with experience in the Barcelona luxury market.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Opera and Delphi is advantageous.
