The successful candidate will work in a highly innovative environment and will participate in international projects for space applications in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
Responsibilities
As a Space optical instrument responsible role within Thales, you will:
Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, …
Formalise specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution / product to your clients
Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests
Define test plans and procedures for instrument level testing
Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the instrument design, interfaces, and performances
Demonstrate the solution to the customer
Coordinate the technical team, both internal to TAS and with the subcontractors
Coordinate the activities of the other specialties (electrical, mechanical, thermal…)
Perform trade-offs between alternative solutions
Define a sound development plan, providing early de-risking actions
Education & Qualifications You have graduated with a Master’s degree of an Engineering School
Graduate / Phd in Physics (Optics) or Optical Engineering is a plus
Skills and adecuado experience
Good knowledge of space optical instruments design and development
Good knowledge of instrumental optics in space environment, in visible or IR fields
Good knowledge of optical design and analysis tools
Knowledge of optical materials (from UV to Thermal Infrared) and processes in space environment
Languages: English and Spanish essential. French is a plus.
