Job Description
What you’ll do
We are seeking a Waiter / Waitress to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage supervisor, you will prepare drinks to guest specifications and serve delicious food, creating relaxing and memorable experiences. Support the Food & Beverage operations, act as the face of our guest service, and bring your own flavor to ensure a great experience from arrival to departure.
1. Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests can unwind and enjoy themselves.
2. Collaborate with the team to keep operations running smoothly and tidily.
3. Describe drinks and menu items vividly, including their origin, taste, and preparation.
4. Set up your outlet, stock supplies, and manage inventory.
5. Ensure food and beverages are well stocked and the area is clean and maintained.
6. Assist with other duties as needed, including serving in other outlets like room service, bar, or terrace.
7. Work with colleagues to provide seamless food service.
8. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
9. Anticipate guest needs with attentive and intuitive service.
10. Assess customer preferences and make recommendations.
11. Address guest dissatisfaction promptly to ensure satisfaction.
12. Accurately close guest checks, process payments, and handle voided or complimentary items.
13. Follow safety and HACCP standards.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
* At least 2 years of experience in hospitality within food & beverage.
* Some college or advanced training in food and beverage management is a plus.
* Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain high attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Fluent in Spanish and English.
* A personable attitude that makes guests, colleagues, and the team feel good.
* Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with teams and leaders.
* Ownership of issues, problem-solving skills, and effective decision-making.
* Quick learner and adaptable to SLS’s culture.
* Humble, open to ideas, and eager to support team success.
