**Job Description / Capsule**
The Healthcare Innovation Team designs projects and initiatives to address unmet needs within the healthcare system and alleviate pain points in the patient journey. These often involve optimizing diagnosis processes, care pathways, or patient monitoring and chronic disease management.
He/She/They leads the key strategic projects of the HCI unit, ensuring the successful implementation of AZ Spain's Innovative Solutions strategy. In collaboration with the HC Innovation and Pathway Optimization Business Partners, they prioritize innovation projects that will become core elements of the Business Unit (BU) strategies.
A holistic view of the needs across therapeutic areas and market access, combined with a deep understanding of pathologies and patient journeys, is essential. This expertise allows them to effectively coordinate and oversee the overall strategy and deployment. They ensure the creation of a business case for each solution and contribute to the prioritization process by analyzing the associated brand plan.
The Innovation Strategy Manager will also be in charge of handling the relationship with the core partners of the Healthcare Innovation Hub and driving the key strategic projects of the area.
**Typical Accountabilities**
**Business Partnering, Strategic alignment and Governance.**
- Leads the overall innovation strategy, designed through the ideation process of Innovative Solutions led by the HCI Business Partners that address prioritized pain points in the patient journey.
- Coordinates the Healthcare Innovation and Patient Pathway Optimization Business Partners to ensure that cross-pathologies synergies among the TA are identified and considered in the design process of Innovative Solutions.
- Develops & supervises Business Cases to calculate the impact expected for the designed Innovative Solutions and leads the reporting consolidation and impact measurement after deployment.
- Ensures that prioritized Innovative Solutions are considered in the Tactical Plans and have budget allocated for their successful implementation.
- Coordinates with field and office roles to make sure that all projects and their key strategic milestones are being met accordingly to the strategy.
- Represents the Innovation Business Partners team in internal business forums (such as Monthly Business Reviews),
making the rest of the organization aware of the innovative solutions developed in the accounts and their
associated impact.
- Participates in the launch readiness team meetings to identify needs and work on the design and ideation of innovative solutions prior to the launch of the drug, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the patient journey of the pathologies under scope.
**Partnerships & Ecosystem**
- Acts as a liaison with AstraZeneca’s integral network of innovation hubs (A. Catalyst Network), the “Act On” programs and Commercial Digital Health team.
- Manages the relationship of AZ Spain with key external Innovation partners.
- Fosters the establishment of new partnerships.
- Ensures landing of AZ Spain HC Innovation strategy and priorities into the different TAs.
- Performs continuous scouting of Innovation trends in coordination with the team of Business Partners.
- Attends the Scientific Summits and Innovation events, representing AZ innovation values and strategy.
- Establishes and monitors KPIs of healthcare innovative solutions to ensure impact and seamless execution.
**Alignment across the organization**
- Manages optimal coordination with the rest of the Healthcare Innovation, ID&S; team and Medical Excellence & Practice Change team.
- Holds regular meetings with the Core Value Teams to confirm strategic alignment and ensure prioritization of relevant lines of work.
- Coordinates the meetings of the transforming Care Committee, setting the agenda and monitoring compliance with the agreed actions.
**Team coordination and follow-up**
- Leads and develops a team of highly skilled colleagues: recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training Healthcare Innovation Business Partners (supports the organization to contribute to the “education” of the wider team).
- Develops teams by providing timely feedback, adequate information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
- Inspires teams and motivates peers to achieve goals on the Healthcare Innovation arena, including learning of new methodologies.
**Compliance**
- Is responsible for internal and external interactions of the team, regularly evaluating business/compliance risks to enable teams to operate accordingly.
- Ensures own and team’s compliance with AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct and company policies and procedures relating to people, finance, technology, security and Safety, Health and Environment.
