Job Description:
The Medical Liaison Manager is critical enabler role for the execution of the medical strategy in the field of the BU RD, and should:
1. Co-lead with the Iberia Medical Director, core medical affairs initiatives such as congress & publication strategy, symposia, data generation, advisory boards and field-medical material localisation/ training.
2. Support the execution of complex medical/scientific projects and contributes to the achievement of shared objectives.
3. Continuously update his/her skills and knowledge of the therapeutic area, patient treatment trends, clinical trials and scientific activities in the field of DMD.
4. Develop and maintain a national and regional database of key strategic contacts for each relevant product and disease area.
5. Enable and support core partner functions including sales, marketing, and market access, working in a crossfunctional environment.
Functions:
- Designs & delivers core medical affairs external engagement/partnership projects (in close collaboration with Medical Director.
- Provision of medical information accurate, unbiased, and balanced and deliver best in class, scientific, educational meetings.
- Maintains an up to date and high-level knowledge of the therapy area & products, new and emerging areas of research, therapeutic issues, and trends.
- Develops mutually beneficial relationships with national, regional, and local External Experts in Spain & Portugal, leading to a productive two-way scientific exchange and achievement of mutually agreed upon objectives related to educational projects, data generation, publications, etc.
Essential minimum requirements:
- Scientific, healthcare or medical degree (BSc, MS, PhD, PharmD, RN, MBBS, MB.ChB or equivalent).
Required:
- Advanced Portuguese, English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry desirable in Medical Affairs type role, dealing with hospital products (desirable Rare Diseases).
- Ability to research and critically analyse and communicate complex scientific and medical information and data.
- Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, with high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong scientific & strategic mindset.
- Highly self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
- Robust knowledge of local regulations related to industry interactions with Spain & Portugal healthcare professionals.
- Ability for 40% travel nationally & occasional international travel. Valid driver’s license.
Desirable:
- Specific therapeutic area experience preferred in Duchenne, rare diseases, neurology and/or neuromuscular.
- Experience in Portugal market.
- MSL experience preferred.
