CRM, Customer Success & Marketing Automation Associate – Mautic Specialist

This hybrid role combines hands-on expertise in Mautic with multichannel Campaigns and Customer Success coordination across clients, internal developers, and the CEO. You will serve as both the technical marketing operator maintaining campaign operations and the primary contact for delivering value in our managed deliverability and profitability optimization ESP services.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the Mautic stack: installations, upgrades, plugins, security.
* Access servers via SSH to audit and optimize cronjobs (segments, campaigns, webhooks, backups) in collaboration with Dev-OPS.
* Handle triggers and messaging workflows, ensuring worker processes run smoothly.
* Query engagement data using Amazon Athena (SQL) on our engagement_daily table to validate KPIs and generate insights for the team.
* Monitor email deliverability using tools like InboxTracker, Litmus, and MXToolBox, maintaining inbox placement rates.

Customer Success & Coordination

* Serve as the primary success contact for assigned accounts: schedule meetings, gather requirements, create tickets, and track SLAs.
* Facilitate communication between development teams, the CEO, project managers, and clients to clarify expectations, identify blockers, and set realistic timelines.
* Present weekly performance reports highlighting growth metrics and next steps.
* Collect client feedback and translate it into actionable backlog items or optimization ideas.

Project Prioritization & Growth

* Collaborate with the CEO on JIRA boards, prioritizing tasks to maximize ROI.
* Design and run experiments (e.g., subject-line tests, segment rollouts) to measure impact.
* Identify and scope new customer prospects fitting our email volume profile (10 MM+ emails/month).
* Require 2–4 years of CRM/Marketing Automation experience, with at least 1 year as the primary Mautic owner.
* Proficiency in SQL on Amazon Athena, including window functions and cost control; familiarity with LLM tools is a plus.
* Experience with Linux CLI: cron, log analysis, bash scripting; LLM assistance is acceptable but responsibility remains.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to marketers and strategic trade-offs to executives.
* Strong project management skills: attention to detail, organized kanban workflows, and a results-oriented mindset.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and resource-efficient delivery.
* Mastery of AI tools like ChatGPT and Copilot for rapid content drafts and data queries.
* Bonus skills: Familiarity with Optimove, Bird.com, Klaviyo, Braze, or Iterable.
* Alignment with Amazon Leadership Principles.

Stack Overview

LayerTechESP / MA Mautic v5.2.3+ (Orion and newer), SparkPost MTA, Amazon SES, qMail; Data on AWS S3 and Athena; Tableau for visualization; Infrastructure on AWS, Contabo, Ubuntu 22; Monitoring via CloudWatch; Version control with Bitbucket or Github; Tools include InboxTracker, Litmus, MXToolBox, HetrixTools, EmailOnAcid, ChatGPT, and other LLMs.

Success Milestones in 30/60/90 Days

30 Days: Set up a new sending domain, configure DNS, warm-up, SES credentials, Mautic settings, and document procedures.

60 Days: Manage customer success for a key client, achieving measurable growth, and resolving issues proactively.

90 Days: Independently handle multiple clients end-to-end, with minimal oversight, and identify new prospects.

Interested candidates should submit:

* A brief video (<3 min) demonstrating a Mautic or Athena success story.
* An example Athena query for bounced emails in 24 hours.
* Sample cron job improvements or additions.
* An email expressing interest.
