We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Málaga and/or Gibraltar. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong accounting controls and providing reliable financial information to management.
Financial Accounting & ReportingPrepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, journals, and reconciliations.Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable OversightReview AP/AR postings, ensuring accuracy, correct coding, and compliance with internal controls.Cash & Treasury ManagementPrepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow movements.Assist with cash-flow forecasting and liquidity management.
Compliance & AuditSupport external audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.Ensure proper filing, documentation, and record-keeping for all accounting matters.
Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and tools.Support implementation of process automation and internal controls enhancements.
Assist in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required by management.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.~3–4+ years of experience in accounting or audit (industry or Big4).~ Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting (IFRS/UK GAAP).~ Proficiency with accounting software (e.G., SAP, Qube, Navision, QuickBooks, or similar).~ Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.~ Experience in real estate, hospitality, or investment fund structures, including Gibraltar regulatory frameworks.Audit background (Big4).Knowledge of consolidations, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity accounting.
