Overview
EPAM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DRC (Direct and Indirect Tax) / Tax Consultant to join our team for a greenfield implementation of SAP S/4HANA. In this role, you will leverage deep functional expertise in DRC Statutory Reporting and strong technical skills, such as ABAP, to create custom reports and enhance standard DRC reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, configure, and implement tax solutions that align with business requirements and regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact project, ensuring compliance and efficiency in tax management processes. The role is offered remotely for professionals based in Spain and Portugal.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement tax strategies that align with business objectives and comply with local and international tax regulations
* Lead the configuration of SAP S/4HANA tax modules, ensuring accurate setup for direct and indirect tax calculations, reporting and compliance
* Work closely with finance teams to gather and analyze tax-related requirements for the SAP S/4HANA implementation
* Design and document tax processes and workflows within the SAP S/4HANA environment, ensuring efficiency and compliance
* Develop and execute test plans to validate tax configurations and ensure accurate tax calculations and reporting
* Provide training and support to end-users on tax processes and SAP S/4HANA functionalities, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system
* Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and ensure that the SAP S/4HANA system is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT and external auditors, to ensure successful implementation and integration of tax solutions
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax consulting, with a focus on direct and indirect taxes in a corporate environment
* Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in tax modules (e.g., SAP Tax Management, SAP S/4HANA Finance)
* In-depth knowledge of local and international tax regulations, compliance requirements and best practices
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business processes
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate tax concepts to non-tax professionals
* Experience in managing projects, with a proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget
* Deep functional expertise in DRC Statutory Reporting
* Technical proficiency in ABAP for creating custom reports and enhancements to standard DRC reports
* Experience in greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementations (nice to have)
* Familiarity with tax automation tools and technologies (nice to have)
* Knowledge of data migration strategies and tools for tax data (nice to have)
