The Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our global Data Platform Engineering team at OpenData. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in developing tools and data pipelines to build the global data core for life sciences in over 100 countries.
Your responsibilities will include creating tools and processes for efficient data management, directly impacting OpenData's success. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data solutions and contribute to the OpenData Data Engineering community to influence tooling and standards for better data quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
* Build data tools to optimize global data operations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data solutions.
* Contribute to the OpenData Data Engineering community to influence tooling and standards for better data quality and productivity.
* Develop a data validation framework to automate quality control.
Requirements
* Over 3 years of hands-on Python development experience in production environments.
* Proficiency in data cloud computing technologies (EMR, Databricks) on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
* Experience designing and implementing data pipelines using distributed storage.
* Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to software design.
* A strong desire to learn and acquire new skills.
* Proactive problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have
* Knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and repository management.
* Experience building test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with Polars.
