The Role As a Data Engineer, you will play an important role in building and evolving our growing data platform. You’ll work closely with product, analytics, and commercial teams to design and deliver data pipelines that power insights and decision-making across the company. Our stack is hosted in AWS and supports both batch and real-time data processing. You’ll work with Spark, AWS Glue, Databricks, and related tooling to develop scalable solutions and contribute to a modern data-driven culture at Viaplay.What You Will Be Doing:
Design, build, and maintain robust batch and streaming data pipelines Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of data products Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and analytics needs Apply engineering best practices:
clean code, testing, observability, peer reviews Contribute to continuous improvement of our data platform and toolingWhat we’re looking for We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
A minimum of 3years of experience in data engineeringExperience with data processing tooling such as AWSGlue, Google Cloud, or DatabricksSolid programming skills in Java orPython (Scala is a plus)Strong experience building data pipelines using SparkGood understanding of AWS Cloud services and infrastructureHands-on experience with streaming frameworks (e.G. Flink, Lambda)Familiarity with data modeling, version control, and orchestration tools It’s a bonus if you have:
