Avionics Surveillance Systems Engineer – Airbus Defence and Space
Location: Getafe, Madrid, Spain
Join a dedicated team in the Avionics‐Surveillance domain focused on developing state‐of‐the‐art surveillance architectures and capabilities. The role contributes to the safety, security, and environmental sustainability of Airbus Defence and Space programs.
Responsibilities
Support feasibility studies for new products and user needs.
Allocate requirements to the Avionics/Surveillance System and manage them.
Define the architecture and specifications of the Avionics/Surveillance System.
Elaborate engineering design documentation.
Support test campaign sequencing, test procedures and facilities.
Monitor tests and perform real‐time analysis of test results; release test analysis and correlation reports after test completion.
Be responsible for Avionics/Surveillance Systems integration activities.
Support the design process, including design review meetings.
Support certification and qualification processes.
Support technical publications (AFM, FCOM, etc.).
Support transversal areas such as Services, Production, Procurement, etc.
Background knowledge on surveillance, air data and navigation data systems.
Knowledge and understanding of international regulatory frameworks (STANAG, EUROCONTROL, ICAO, FAA, EASA, AIMS).
Qualifications
Between 7 to 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering or development of Avionics Systems, preferably within Surveillance and Navigation Systems.
Chartered Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent.
Knowledge of surveillance, air data and navigation systems.
Experience with airworthiness and certification processes.
Ability to work under strict timescales as part of an integrated and multifunctional team.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Open‐minded, agile, pragmatic and eager to take on new challenges.
Analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Strong Spanish and English skills (negotiation level).
Innovation oriented and business driven.
International experience.
