About the Job
As a Senior Toxicologist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of cosmetic products and their ingredients. Your activities will include evaluating the potential toxicity of ingredients, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
You will provide expert advice and contribute to research and development efforts related to new methodologies for cosmetic toxicology.
- Manage Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) projects and review TPM documentation.
- Represent the Safety Department as the primary point of contact for Product Development/PMO organizations in various categories.
- Apply non-testing approaches aided by computational tools to support novel ingredients' safety assessment.
- Conduct safety assessments on raw material ingredients and prepare comprehensive safety assessment reports.
- Support TPM product registration worldwide.
- Prepare Product Information File (PIF) packages in accordance with regulations.
- Review product safety for its intended use and determine the appropriate studies to substantiate safety.
- Monitor safety testing spending and recommend cost savings.
- Provide training and coaching to junior personnel on safety functions.
- Conduct literature reviews and impact assessments on controversial safety and regulatory issues.
- Attend and present at scientific meetings.
- Stay current with new developments in science and apply innovative concepts and methodologies.
Requirements
- University studies, Master's or Doctorate degree in Cosmetic or Chemical Industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for cosmetic safety.
- Well-organized and versátil with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in general toxicology concepts.
- Fluent in English.
