For a leading Italian chemical multinational company, we are searching a Plant Manager for the Spanish site (+100 FTEs).
The role will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the plant, with a strong focus on Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), chemical production operations, maintenance activities, and both OPEX and CAPEX management.
The Plant Manager will define and execute the site’s manufacturing strategy in alignment with the company’s global objectives, ensuring excellence in safety, environmental compliance, operational efficiency, quality, and customer service, while leading and developing the departments under their responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all site operations, ensuring high standards in HSE, productivity, and operational efficiency.
* Supervise and develop plant personnel by hiring, training, coaching, and managing performance in line with company policies and business objectives.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to define operational and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring effective planning and execution of CAPEX projects upon approval.
* Ensure full compliance with GMP standards, as well as local, national, and EU regulations, in close coordination with the HSE function.
* Oversee and resolve operational, production, and maintenance issues, ensuring customer demands are met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
* Drive continuous improvement by developing, implementing, and optimizing standard operating procedures and best practices.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, other group companies, and customers, ensuring reliability and consistency in product supply.
Requirements:
* Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, with a strong technical foundation in manufacturing operations.
* Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience within fine chemicals manufacturing industry.
* Solid understanding of batch production and multi-product manufacturing processes, within internationally recognized regulatory frameworks.
* Proven track record in driving operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Strong people leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and collaborate effectively across multicultural and international teams.
* Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to build credibility on the shop floor while driving operational excellence and change management.
* Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams in a complex industrial environment.
* Strong business acumen, including experience with P&L responsibility.
* Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Comfortable operating within international and multi-site organizations.
* Fluent in English; a good knowledge of Spanish or Italian is considered a plus.
