ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Within the Supply Chain function are our Planning teams, comprising over 300 professionals. These teams are a leading, purpose-built Global Hub that covers various Planning areas. We share best practices in a centralized, standard manner to deliver industry-leading service at optimal cost and inventory levels. Our Global Supply Planning team plays a crucial role in Coty's business, ensuring products are manufactured and delivered to distribution centers on time and in full. This is achieved by balancing service, inventory, cost, and sustainability to meet revenue and cash flow objectives.
PURPOSE:
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for managing and safeguarding the quality, integrity, and security of the organization's data assets. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to enforce data governance policies, overseeing data management processes, and supporting users in data access and interpretation. The role is vital for maintaining accurate data for decision-making and regulatory compliance.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Governance:
* Implement and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality and consistency.
* Define and maintain data ownership and accountability models for key data assets.
* Collaborate with business units and IT to manage data according to governance standards.
Data Quality:
* Monitor and assess data quality, identifying issues related to completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
* Develop and implement data cleansing and validation processes.
* Support teams in resolving data issues and maintaining data accuracy.
* Develop and maintain Excel templates and macros for data quality checks.
Data Management:
* Understand data sources, targets, transformation rules, and usage.
* Ensure data is stored, archived, and retrieved securely and efficiently.
* Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation for clarity and usability.
* Oversee master data and reference data management processes.
Data Lifecycle Management:
* Manage data from acquisition to retirement, ensuring appropriate usage.
* Work with IT and stakeholders to ensure data availability and compliance with privacy regulations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Work with data owners, users, and technical teams to define and implement data standards.
* Facilitate communication across business units for data consistency.
* Provide training on data policies, standards, and best practices.
Compliance and Security:
* Ensure adherence to data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
* Coordinate with IT security to implement access controls and security measures.
* Support audits to verify compliance with data management standards.
Reporting and Analytics Support:
* Ensure data quality for analysis, reporting, and visualization.
* Assist in developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
* Collaborate with analytics teams to identify data needs and opportunities.
Process Improvement:
* Optimize data management processes within o9/DL systems.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in data management or governance roles.
* Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality, and lifecycle management.
* Familiarity with database systems, data modeling, and warehousing.
* Proficiency in data tools (SQL, governance platforms, catalog tools).
* Understanding of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Certifications like DAMA, CDMP preferred.
* Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Advanced Excel skills, including macros.
