Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain relationships with brokers, aiming to secure profitable growth. The role involves transforming broker relationships into trading partnerships, securing renewals, and generating new business within strategy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
* Review large, complex, or specialist cases, communicate propositions effectively, and deliver underwriting decisions within set timeframes to secure profitable business.
* Collaborate with Account Managers on business development plans to identify new opportunities and act as a unified team.
* Manage and develop a portfolio to maximize revenue from new and renewal business, including follow-ups on new cases.
* Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term relationships and generating new opportunities.
* Negotiate and communicate underwriting decisions following established processes and regulatory requirements.
* Work with colleagues to resolve broker and client complaints promptly, maintaining relationship quality.
