CRM, Customer Success & Marketing Automation Associate – Mautic Specialist

This hybrid role combines deep hands-on expertise in Mautic with multichannel campaign management and customer success coordination across clients, internal developers, and the CEO. You will serve as both the technical marketing operator ensuring campaign performance and the primary contact for day-to-day value delivery for our managed deliverability and profitability-optimized ESP offering.

Key Responsibilities MK Technical Operations & Analytics
* Manage the Mautic platform—including installations, upgrades, plugins, and security.
* Access servers via SSH to audit and optimize cron jobs (segments, campaigns, webhooks, backups) with DevOps.
* Handle triggers or missing messenger issues: manage consumer workers.
* Query Amazon Athena (SQL) on our engagement_daily table (with 47 columns, S3-partitioned by date) to validate KPIs and generate ad-hoc insights in collaboration with DevOps.
* Monitor email deliverability using tools like InboxTracker, Litmus, and MXToolBox; maintain inbox placement rates.

Note: 95% of your time will be dedicated to these technical tasks.

* Integrate Mautic with client websites, e-commerce platforms, CDP, BI, and ad platforms via API / Webhooks.
Customer Success & Coordination
* Serve as the primary success contact for assigned accounts: schedule stand-ups, gather requirements, create tickets, and track SLAs.
* Coordinate hand-offs between the development team, CEO, project managers, and clients; ensure expectations, blockers, and timelines are clear.
* Present weekly performance reports highlighting growth in active users, clicks, revenue, and upcoming experiments.
* Collect feedback and translate it into backlog items or optimization ideas.
Project Prioritization & Growth
* Co-manage JIRA boards with the CEO; prioritize tasks to maximize ROI.
* Conduct mini-experiments (e.g., subject-line tests, new segment rollouts) and measure results.
* Identify and scope new customer prospects fitting our profile of over 10 million emails/month.
* Required experience: 2–4 years in CRM/Marketing Automation, with at least 1 year as the primary Mautic owner.
* Proficiency in SQL on Amazon Athena (including window functions, partitions, cost management); familiarity with LLMs is a plus.
* Linux CLI skills: cron, log grep, bash scripting, with LLM assistance but responsible execution.
* Ability to clearly explain technical concepts like DNS vs DKIM to marketers and roadmap trade-offs to executives.
* Strong project management skills: attention to detail, organized Kanban workflow, and a “definition of done” mindset.
* Kaizen & frugality mindset: iterate quickly, deliver value efficiently.
* Mastery of AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) for rapid content creation and queries.
* Bonus skills: familiarity with Optimove, Bird.com, Klaviyo, Braze, or Iterable.
* Alignment with Amazon Leadership Principles.
Stack Overview

LayerTechESP / Mautic v5.2.3+ (Orion and newer), SparkPost MTA, Amazon SES or qMail (multi-MTA setup), AWS S3 (for engagement data), Athena, Tableau, InfraAWS, Contabo, Airflow, Ubuntu 22, CloudWatch, Bitbucket/GitHub, and various tools like InboxTracker, Litmus, MXToolBox, HetrixTools, EmailOnAcid, ChatGPT, and other LLMs.

Success Milestones (30/60/90 Days)

Day 30: Create a new sending domain for an existing client, configuring DNS, warm-up plans, SES credentials, Mautic settings, and cron schedules; document the process and coordinate with the client’s team.

Day 60: Own customer success for one comprehensive client: achieve four consecutive weeks of growth in active users, clicks, volume, and revenue; conduct weekly syncs, proactively resolve issues, and upgrade systems.

Day 90: Independently manage three clients end-to-end (Mautic operations, Athena validation, dev coordination) with minimal CEO intervention; proactively identify and scope one new customer.

Application Requirements
* Submit a short video (Loom or similar, ≤3 min) showcasing a Mautic or Athena success story you led.
* Provide an Athena query example counting bounced emails in the past 24 hours.
* Share a snippet of cron jobs you’ve added or improved.
