Job summary
2K is seeking a Senior Translator to work on multiple projects. The Sr Translator coordinates and facilitates communication between internal and external partners. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a team passionate about delivering top-tier video game localization.
What You Will Do
* Translate 2K game documents in various formats (.xlsx, .docx, .txt, directly in CMS database: XLOC, in memoQ).
* Lead translation teams on several 2K IPs.
* Create, maintain, and update style guides and terminology for 2K IPs in French.
* Advise on French language and cultural aspects.
* Translate and adapt all localization material from English to French, ensuring high quality that matches the style, tone, and voice.
* Lead translation teams and oversee all linguistic aspects of assigned translations.
* Suggest process improvements for translation quality and efficiency.
* Research sources including dictionaries, terminology guides, and internal references.
* Make cultural adaptations to fit the target market.
* Collaborate with a multilingual team of translators and cross-reference issues.
* Train team members on CAT tools like memoQ to improve efficiency and consistency.
* Write documentation (How-To guides, tutorials) to facilitate team training and proficiency.

What Will Make You a Great Fit
* Passion for video games and localization.
* Native-level French speaker.
* Fluent in English.
* Strong understanding of source and target cultures.
* Thorough knowledge of the video game localization process.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Understanding of 2K's quality standards.
* Adaptability to new software and processes.
* At least 5 years of experience in videogame translation.
* Experience in trans-creation, script adaptation, copywriting.
* Excellent writing and grammar skills, with a good sense of flow/style.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Google Sheets, memoQ, and terminology management.
What Will Help You Succeed
* University degree in translation or related field.
* Enjoy working with developers and shaping localization.
* Additional languages are a plus.
* Familiarity with XLOC or similar Content Management Tools.
