Cruising for over 50 years, European Waterways is the owner and operator of a fleet of luxury hotel barges located in France, Holland and Scotland.
Offering six night all inclusive cruises for between 8 to 12 passengers, each barge has a minimum crew of four including Captain, Master Chef, Tour Guide/deckhand and Host/es.
We are currently recruiting for a Host/ess for our barges in France for our 2025 season (from August to the end of October).
We are looking for a dynamic and customer service-oriented Host / Hostess to join our hospitality team aboard a luxury barge. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in both housekeeping duties and table service, ensuring top-notch guest experience through clean and well-prepared cabins and friendly food and beverage service.
The main duties of a host/ess are:
- Housekeeping: cleaning cabins, bathrooms, salon, watering the saloon’s plants, ordering flowers
- Serve at mealtimes : prepare breakfasts, aperitifs and drinks, describe the wine and cheese you serve
- Taking care of the laundry
- Make an inventory of the different stocks and watch them out: drinks, wine, cleaning products, breakfast stuff, etc.
- Prepare a clear shopping list for the chef and sometimes go shopping with him
- Give a warm welcome to the guests : take care of them and anticipate their needs

This is a live-in position for the entire duration of the contract.
Our team members are provided with free food and accommodation for the entire duration of the contract.
