General Description
The Health & Safety Specialist will support the General Health & Safety (H&S;) team by ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging communication of safety data, initiatives, and performance across Ocean Winds. This role is pivotal in embedding the H&S; strategy, strengthening governance, and driving cultural alignment through clear, data-driven storytelling.
Main Accountabilities Data Management & Reporting
- Collect, validate and analyse safety data across all regions.
- Develop and manage dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards that align to the global H&S; strategy.
- Maintain consistent standards in incident and contractor reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Lead global data quality reviews and represent OW in industry data panels (e.G. G+).
- Identify and implement reporting efficiencies and system improvements.
Communication & Engagement
- Translate technical safety data into clear, compelling insights for executives, frontline teams, and regulators.
- Deliver timely alerts, lessons learned, Safety Moments, and global updates to drive awareness and learning.
- Support leadership in crisis and incident communication, ensuring swift, accurate messaging.
Culture & Change
- Act as a safety culture “change agent” by reinforcing consistent, visible communication strategies.
- Collaborate with H&S; leadership, regional teams, and corporate communications to align safety campaigns with company branding.
- Support training programs (e-learning, workshops) by creating accessible, impactful content and measuring effectiveness.
Academic Background
Degree in Communications, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related field (Health & Safety background beneficial but not essential).
Languages
Fluent in English (spoken and written). Other languages highly valued.
Professional Experience
- Strong experience in corporate communications, preferably in energy, renewables, oil & gas, or other high-risk industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage data and reporting processes at global scale.
Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and data visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
- Proficiency with MS Office and communication tools (PowerPoint, Forms, SharePoint, Teams).
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages an advantage).
- Creative design capability to produce campaigns, visual dashboards, and presentations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Clarity: Translates complex data into simple, actionable insights.
- Engagement: Tailors communication effectively for diverse audiences.
- Integrity: Ensures accuracy and credibility of reporting.
- Collaboration: Builds trust and influence across regions and functions.

Other Requirements
Role based in Madrid or Edinburgh, with potential for domestic and international travel. Hybrid work model in place.
