Field Service Engineer – Wärtsilä
We are now looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred locations are Spain, Italy and Portugal.
Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions (SLS) is a fast‑growing division within Wärtsilä Marine. We’re on the lookout for an experienced Field Service Engineer to become a key player in our global mission. As a Field Service Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities:
* Execute field service activities according to work plans
* Perform overhauls and repairs on‑site or in workshops
* Professionally engage with customers throughout service delivery
* Provide internal and external updates on job progress
* Create detailed Service Work Reports
* Ensure all work complies with Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures
* Report on work order status to customers and internal teams
* Continuously seek smarter, safer, and more efficient solutions.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* A safety‑first mindset and a collaborative spirit
* A degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering—or equivalent maritime experience
* Hands‑on technical experience in marine engineering and problem‑solving
* Proven expertise in installation, operation, maintenance, and repair
* Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
* Experience with propulsion shaft alignment and Stern Tube Bearings is a plus
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a bonus
* Willingness to travel extensively

* Contribution to order intake, net sales, and EBIT for SLS
* Achievement of KPIs set by the FS Manager and FS Area Manager EUAM
