Join Our Rolling Stock HUB in Madrid as a Design Engineer (m/f/d) – Interior Components

Your new role – innovative and future‑focused

Are you ready to shape the future of sustainable mobility? As a Design Engineer for Interior Components, you will play a key role in creating cutting‑edge, environmentally friendly rail vehicles that redefine passenger experience.

What you’ll do:

Be part of our engineering team dedicated to the interior design of next‑generation passenger trains.

Develop innovative concepts and technical solutions for interior trim and equipment, ensuring comfort, safety, and style.

Design assemblies and systems in 3D‑CAD (Creo) and coordinate internal and external design teams across international locations.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders—interface partners, project managers, procurement, and production—to ensure seamless integration.

Integrate mechanical and electrical subsystems, balancing technology, cost efficiency, and deadlines while meeting critical requirements such as fire protection and ergonomic design.

Work with procurement to prepare detailed specifications, manage tenders, and support suppliers throughout development and manufacturing.

Oversee assembly in production, ensuring quality and compliance with customer requirements, standards, and regulations.

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate

- You have a master's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering or a comparable degree.
- You are an experienced user of Creo, PDMLink and SAP.
- You have several years (at least 3) of professional experience in the field of interior design of railway vehicles.
- You have extensive expertise in the material fields of fiber composites, wood, metals, glass as well as with lighting systems and/or adhesive technology.
- You have already taken over the technical leadership of supporting design engineers.
- You have very good written and spoken English skills, additional language skills are an advantage.
