Job Description
Purpose: The role, with an important Fintech component, is a key part of the Legal team, managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group, ensuring we achieve our strong growth plans as a Travel Tech Company.
Expected Deliveries: To assist the Fintech/Insurtech Team with the setup and implementation of initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring effective development of strategic projects. To advise on day-to-day business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial and regulatory perspective, providing preventive legal counsel, and monitoring legal risks.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Legal assistance: Provide legal support to the Fintech/Insurtech Team on risks from a commercial and regulatory perspective. Monitor new regulations impacting HBX activities.
* Advisory role: Guide the team on daily decisions, review contracts focusing on regulatory compliance, and ensure legal risks are managed.
* Cross-functional coordination: Collaborate with Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security, and other functions to provide aligned advice.
* Process improvement: Review and improve current workflows, simplify procedures, and develop scalable guidelines with stakeholders.
Skills
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is desirable.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities under tight deadlines.
* Risk management and negotiation skills, with attention to detail.
* Autonomy, team orientation, flexibility, and adaptability.
Experience
* Minimum 6 years in similar roles, preferably in-house legal counsel in a multinational, with Fintech experience.
* Experience in a law firm’s Fintech department is valued.
* Experience in multicultural environments.
Qualifications
* Law degree from a reputable institution.
* Master's or specialization in Fintech Law is desirable.
* Legal Fintech experience required; Data Protection experience is a plus.
* Business proficiency in English required; additional languages valued.
