Tenure-track Faculty positions in Industrial Engineering: Industrial Technologies Engineering
IE University´s School of Science and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate courses such as Quality Control, Project Management, Industry 4.0, Sustainability and Design Engineering.
The idóneo candidate should demonstrate a strong research record in a field related to:
- Design engineering and human-centered innovation
- Automation, robotics, smart manufacturing and industry 4.0
A doctoral degree in industrial engineering or a related field is preferred.Prior teaching experience and evidence of academic or professional contributions in the field will be viewed favorably.
Faculty are expected to engage in high-quality research, pursue external funding, and contribute to curriculum development and university service.
We value candidates with the capacity to collaborate in applied research projects led by theImpact Xcelerator at IE School of Science and Technology, specificallyinAutomation, Robotics, Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0. The ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research initiatives that apply industrial engineering expertise to optimize processes, foster innovation, and build resilient, sustainable industry systems will be key to the role’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in Industrial Engineering, including Quality Control, Project Management, Industry 4.0, Sustainability, and Design Engineering.
- Conduct high-impact research in areas such as automation, robotics, smart manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 while actively securing competitive research funds.
- Supervise and mentor students across undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.
- Collaborate with industry and research partners on innovative projects in automation, robotics, smart manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.
- Play an active role in curriculum development, incorporating emerging trends such as digital twins, automation, sustainable operations, and AI-driven decision systems
- Participate in academic service and contribute to the strategic growth of the School of Science and Technology.

Qualifications
- A PhD in industrial engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Prior teaching experience and evidence of academic or professional contributions in the field will be viewed favorably.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not mandatory.
